ASUS' P5Q Turbo motherboard comes in for a quick pit-stop.

P45 motherboards aren't exactly what you'd call cutting-edge tech, but for a lot of people they're a very attractive and smart choice for a decent performance rig.

ASUS have just come out with their P5Q Turbo, which is based on the P45 chipset and offers quite a few interesting choices - like VIA audio instead of Realtek - but with a pricetag that might deter some.

Even stranger is that the Via chip used (the VT1708S) was announced in Feb 2006, so is rather old.

Head into the gallery to see lots of pics, and keep your eyes peeled for when we get this board into the Labs and see if the funky cooling design used actually does the job, or just looks pretty.

looks very much the same as the vanilla P5Q - the n'bridge is just slightly different.
(I bought the P5Q for $100 less)
