Wrapping Up
All in all the Phenom II 955 Black Edition chip is a nice option if you've $US265 to spend, but if you're anything like us we'd be saving up for a new Nehalem rig - the difference is worth the wait.

Updated stock heatsink!
We also got a new stock heatsink with this chip, and found that we could only push it to 3440MHz before it'd become unstable. At stock it ran idle temps of 39 degrees with 66.4dBA, and load was 56 degrees at 75.1dBA - definitely get yourself an aftermarket cooler with this annoyingly loud cooler.
Head to the next pages for benchmark screenies, and the gallery to see the heatsink in all it's adequacy!
