Thermaltake's ProWater watercooling kit - good enough for Pros?

It's a given that in the wild world of computing (especially coupled with overclocking) that you'll eventually run into heat-related problems - and that's where Thermaltake's ProWater 880i kit steps in.

Aimed squarely at those who aren't afraid of spending big to get the best, it's comprised of a waterblock, radiator, pump/reservoir, flow meter and tubing, all of which are Thermaltake's own products.

There's a lot here with the ProWater 880i, though not all of it is of exceptional finish, overall it leaves a good first impression that it might be able to give custom kits a decent run.

Compatability is for socket 478, LGA775, LGA1366, K8, AM2/AM2+, and covers all the sockets that it needs to (and even some it probably doesn't).

With pricing around $330 it's much cheaper than buying your own components and assembling them, so head into the gallery of pics to check out each component - and make sure you pick up Atomic for the full results and opinion of whether the ProWater 880i really lives up to its name.

so this is just the 850i kit with a 240mm radiator?
seem to be the only difference.

its still got the Cu/Al mix aswell.. eek.
price is good though. about time the magazine reviewed something other than HSFs again too..

also, ~$130 extra over 850i - for a larger radiator and extra fan..

if i were buying this id be seriously considering the 850i and buying a decent copper 240 rad.. removes the corrosion issue and potentially saves some $$

Did someone forget about the galvinic table of metals

so no mention of the above problem in the magazine review?

i guess the only reason that could have been overlooked is that the radiator is copper (brass?) tubed, with just Al fins? so the water doesnt actually ever contact the differing metals at all?
otherwise, i find it strange it wasnt mentioned when this sort of thing was top of the "no way" list on an earlier h20 prebuilt kit roundup (along with potentially harmful coolant)
