Logitech's new G13 Gamepad offers some Advanced features, but are they any good?

Keyboards are a pretty subjective thing at the best of times, with each preferring one to another based on personal preference, but the G13 is something that you'll either love or hate.

It's less a full-fledged keyboard replacement than just another tool to add to your gaming periphery, designed to offer quick access to 22 macro keys and a few extra buttons here and there.

They're all backlit in a dim white colour, and there's even a dot-matrix screen at the top of the G13 to show information and stats for supported programs (which admittedly is only 37 games, and a further four apps).

Potentially great for MMO fans this has a lot to offer those in need of more buttons, but at a price of about $110 on the market it's the same you'd pay for a whole keyboard.

We'll reserve final judgement for an upcoming Issue of Atomic, but until we do feel free to jump into the gallery of pics and post below with your decision; is the G13 for you?

What?
Is this like one of those FPS keyboard replacements?

"Oh, neat! I'll just move forward by...pressing....the G4..key? And move backwards by...G11..?

What the super jesus!?"

Ok, I would be totally into this if I felt it was worth even half of the RRP.

Orcone, how is it any less logical than W or S?

What's with the little nipple like joystick for the thing... Im assuming that is some sort mouse like replacement.

That'd take some getting used to, I reckon Dave fires up a FPS of his choice, and lets rip.

That'll be the plan for the next print issue. I've started using the training level of COD4, as it both times your run and delivers accuracy figures. It's a level I know well, so therefore it's as good for 'real world' testing.

Are you saying you've never passed that level Dave (said in an ascending high pitched tone.)

I have a zfang and it is much better supported and laid out than this gameboard. It also cost half of this board. No LCD screen but hell who has time to look at their hands when gaming.

I've got the nostromo N52te and that's looking better and no lcd screen either. Price is a hell of alot cheaper too.
