The second GMC case serves breakfast?

We had a look at GMC's quirky R4 Bulldozer a little while back, but the R2 Toast is something along similar lines.

Echoing the R4's incredibly small weight and size, the Toast packs in up to ATX motherboards with a weight of only 3.5KG and a bargain price of $74.

There's a single 80mm cooling fan at the back which goes against most case designs, but the CD drive is mounted in a very different way - sliding up from the front of the case just like a toaster.

Head into the gallery of pics to see more from this case, and while we didn't butter one side to drop it (leaving that for the full review in an upcoming issue of the mag), the Toast is one case that'll impress or distress.

i think it has good potential as a moddable case, but cramped conditions would require some forethought, it is nice tho.

Interesting idea, but knowing GMC it will look good for a week and then fall apart when you use it.

Why did they inclued a kitchen sink? This thing looks butt ugly to me.

That plastic kitchen sink section is simply asking to be chopped up and replaced with something flashy.

Hmm... on that though I'd say the rest of the case is asking to be chopped up and replaced with something flashy.

I like the look of the drive mount but the rest of the case really needs a lot more finish for most enthusiasts. It's probably too pricey for your average Joe as well. There may be a niche market there but I don't see it being very popular.

to me, this looks like they are trying to make pc's look more like macs, which isnt a bad thing for everyday users. But i agree with the main point, it seems to lack quality

i threw up, looks like complete rubbish and lacks ans any quality finish to the eyes, bad styling, uber "old" bad cooling (2x 80mm WTH!?) front actually looks like a mini kitchen sink though...

I love the idea of an upwards-facing optical drive. Will be interesting to see what else they do - hopefully apart from that it'll be a bog-standard el-cheapo case that actually doesn't look like shit.
