ASRock's incredibly affordable P55 mobo.

The P55 chipset is the most desirable platform for any enthusiast today; offering great overclockability, nice expansion options and a good price.

ASRock brings that price even lower than before with their P55M PRO, a P55-based mATX mobo rocking in at the bargain-basement price of only $145.

To get this low it skimps on a few features such as Packet Switch chips and some SATA ports, but a decent chunk of options you'd need are still here.

Crossfire or SLI is not something you'd want to run here due to limited bandwidth, but for the price it's definitely got some things going for it.

Head into the gallery of pics to see more of this mobo, and keep your eyes open for the full review in an upcoming Issue of Atomic.

Looks like a fantastic entry level P55 board. The 1156 socket is proving to be really affordable.

Definitely cheap, but at what cost?
Asrock aren't exactly the best when it comes to performance.

Looks pretty good. I am surprised that there is only one heatsink on the board though and it only has 4 expansion slots. Otherwise, it looks like pretty good deal. Don't know about reliability though.

you get what you pay for, I guess. I'd rather spend a few more dollars and get something decent.

khanbm, you can reasonably expect most 1156 socket motherboards to only have one main heatsink. Because of the way many functions are now performed by the CPU we have really moved away from the traditional north/south bridge configuration.

"incredibly affordable" for a reason...

Honestly don't know why you bother reviewing this junk.

How about you review the same board after it's been running for 13 months. Love to see the results.
