ASUS brings the first mobo with SATA 3 and USB 3.

We've seen a lot of P55 Express based motherboards around Atomic already, and if the three ASUS boards (the P7P55D EVO, Sabertooth 55i and Maximus III Formula) before this one weren't high-end enough, the P7P55D-E Premium definitely looks set to top them all.

It's got more power phases around the LGA1156 socket than seems sane, full support for the latest SATA-III standard as well as USB 3.0, and comes with the usual features that you'd expect from a board of this calibre.

The only thing that remains to be seen at this point is the price tag, but as the performance of ASUS' motherboards has been reliably good throughout testing this board isn't going to let anyone down.

Head into the gallery of pictures to see the P7P55D-E Premium in all its livery, as well as shots of the various onboard chips that make it work.

LachieFin, you're thinking of LGA1366 on the X58 chip:

http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/Search/x58.aspx

Which annoyingly hasn't had a new board released for quite some time. I've heard rumours that some stores aren't stocking the full range of X58 boards either, but it's unconfirmed as yet.

Ahh. that would explain abit. Still seems odd that the motherboard is so highend and not x58 based.
