Computex 2010: SilverStone update three of their popular enthusiast cases with crazy cooling and SSD support.
SilverStone have been manufacturing enthusiast cases for quite a few years now, bringing us the Raven RV01 and RV02, the Fortress FT01 and FT02, then the superlative Temjin TJ07 case that featured in Project Mortal Mod.
They've brought the latest revisions of these cases with them to Computex 2010, tweaking the designs markedly to bring about some serious changes - are they good enough to keep us interested?
First up is the Raven RV03 case, boasting a completely redesigned fascia with blue highlights and an aggressively angular form, pulling the power supply within the chassis and utilising two massive Air Penetrator fans to provide cooling. The storage drives aren't mounted in the traditional location and are instead mounted behind the motherboard tray, and the side window has been reworked to give a very wide viewing port.
The second on display was the Temjin TJ11 case, pulling together all the features that made the TJ07 such a stellar performer and throwing a little more into the mix. The fascia is entirely constructed from aluminium with two power buttons that can be accessed regardless of the case's location on desk or ground, and there are two gigantic cutouts in the side panels to allow airflow directly into the chassis. If that weren't enough there is also enough room in the bottom compartment near the PSU bay for a 480mm radiator - this is a watercooler's wet dream.
Finally we had a look at the Fortress FT03 case, a Micro ATX build that we can best describe as a fridge...or perhaps a subwoofer, if we stretch. It really is something that can only make sense in pictures, but the FT03 is certainly an interesting design.
There are a few other bits and pieces that make up the SilverStone booth at Computex 2010, but it'll be interesting to see these cases in detail to see if they're an improvement at all or fail to hit the mark. Jump into the gallery of pics to kick off with the RV03.
