Can the Aerocool PGS B Bx-500 be the 'Ultimate' chassis?

We take a look at the budget Aerocool case that redefines what it means to be budget - starting with the price tag...

Aerocool have a reputation for affordability, but we haven't experienced many of their products that disappoint - from the excellent Gatewatch to the GT-1000 heatsink.

Of course both of these are rather old and can't actually be bought any more, which brings us to what you can actually buy: the Aerocool Bx-500.

Described in full as the slightly awkward-to-pronounce "Aerocool PGS B Series Bx-500", this case is listed in the "Ultimate Gaming Series" section of Aerocool's website, which considering the $180-odd price, suggests it offers quite a lot to the enthusiast.

Indeed the images on the product page make it look quite exceptional, pictured with more 120mm red LED fans than seems practical, and suggesting it's quite the capable machine - of course, it doesn't come with all the fans as stock.

Look at all those fans! Shame they're not actually included.

We've reviewed the chassis in Issue 117 of the magazine, which will be hitting newsagents next week, but until then feel free to see the Bx-500 in our gallery of photos and postulate your own theories in our comments section below.

for me this looks quite promising, lots of cool and useful features, tho my next build, there will be no LED's anywhere, but fans are easily replaced, can't wait for the review.

Oh wow that IS a cm690 and I should know coz i have one, it uses exactly the same harddrive bay holders, cable managment system and fan setup and looks mostly the same, even down to the screws in the 5 and a half inch bay. not to mention i got mine for 130.

needs a colour for the interior, like red or black or even orange. looks like cm690 clone, but with some improvements, like the little fan header idea thats pretty smart, also looks longer than a690. dont mind this case at all.

They should have spray painted the interior, rear and bottom all black IMO.
I do like that fan thing that they put in the interior. Quite nice.

Was so surprised by the review in atomic for this case. They say they can't recomend it. I have this case and love it. It has so much room inside. All the other reviews I have read it gets high scores. The atomic reviewer says it is flimsy. It is solid as a rock. Atomic, I don't trust your reviews anymore!
