It slices, it dices, it carries your files.
The ubiquitous Swiss Army knife now features something genuinely useful! Ok – so we do use the blunt little knife to open our mail most days, but now! Oh now! It’s got a USB key in it! Now this we can use. Victorinox (the company that makes Swiss Army Knives, in case you didn’t know), offer them in all sizes from 64MB up to 1GB.
Along with the flip-out USB stick, the base version is equipped with a knife, scissors and a nail file. These are things we can use. The nail file we should use more often. We tested the sharpness of the knife and the scissors in a comprehensive Labs test. First we cut a Post-It note in half. It sliced as cleanly as a Wiltshire Staysharp through a Coke can. Impressed, we moved on and tested the USB itself. Our PC instantly recognised the device as a new drive. Just how we like it, no mucking around.
The version we really want is the full McGyver 1GB + superbright white LED torch. We’d take that camping, no question.
