Unboxing Gallery: We take a close look at ASUS new ROG Rampage III motherboard - and we like what we see...

Okay, so we admit it - GIGABYTE's G1.Assassin motherboard may be a little over the top. But ASUS has an offering that might just be on the money...

Of course, we don't have local pricing on the ASUS ROG Rampage III Black Edition mobo, but we do know one thing. It's the perfect size, packed with great features like enhanced wireless functionality, a dedicated LAN/Audio card (mixing Xonar audio with a Killer NIC), HD audio via a Creative X-Fi chip, funky colours (or lack, as the case may be), and a mess of other stuff.

Let's just say it's featured out the wazoo and leave it at that. If you want to see what the board looks like, check out our gallery, and keep an eye out for a full review in an upcoming issue!

I didn't get exact pricing but ASUS were talking in the range of $700 - this isn't your normal ROG board. It is also likely its last hurrah for the X58 chipset, an expensive farewell of sorts.

OHHHHH yeah that's so sexy I'd like to hump it but wait this thing cost more than a hooker for a night $1,049.00nzd WTF!! you've gotta be kiddin right for something that amounts to maybe 50~60 bucks worth of bits if that GTFO Asus how many you think you'll sell here 2 maybe 3 I'd rather spend that amount on AM3+ an new CPU and 8GB DDR3 which all up is going to cost me a fuckload less

" HD audio via a Creative X-Fi chip" you sure it's not Realtek running X-FI software
