Gallery: We take a look at Intel's official X79 board - complete with black bars over the naughty bits!
With the upcoming launch of the next Intel chip, Sandy Bridge-E, comes a new slew of motherboards from a multitude of manufacturers - we've already seen offerings from MSI, GIGABYTE and ASUS.
Today brings with it a board from Intel itself (though likely manufactured by Foxconn), the DX79SI. This is Intel's most premium offering; a DX79TO will hit the market some time later with lower specifications.
Though we do not have pricing information, and cannot publish the exact capabilities of the chipset, LGA2011 socket, or processor (due to non-disclosure agreements), we can show you the X79 motherboard in all its quad-channel glory.
Stay tuned for our inevitable review of the X79 platform and Sandy Bridge-E processors in an upcoming article, and check out the board in detail below.
