A flame-grilled lappy, minus the sesame seed bun.
The delightful chaps over at Toshiba (who we’re sure just love being called chaps) sent us this gaming/multimedia/powerhouse laptop today, so we slammed it down on our photo table, and took some happy snaps for you.
Specifications are quite respectable, with a C2D T9400 running at 2.53GHz and a single 9800M GTX (with an odd 1GB of memory – why is this needed in a laptop?). There’s also 3GB of DDR2 at 1066MHz, though timings are very relaxed at 7-7-7-20. These work together to feed a very impressive 17in screen, with a native res of 1680x1050.

Performance of these parts are pretty good, giving 9,093 3DMarks 2006. Check out the other handy info from GPU-Z and CPU-Z, as well as the gallery for a few more pictures. This was the same lappy that we had at the Live Forum down in Melbourne, and it certainly is a looker.
Keep your eyes peeled (we do mean literally, not just a figure of speech) for this laptop in a future issue of Atomic, where our beloved Editor will pick it to pieces (that one was a figure of speech!).
