Eidos is game for a takeover, admitting it is currently in talks with an array of handsome courters who might commit to it by buying up the company and all of its licences.
Eidos and its big daddy, SCi, has been praying for someone to put it out of its financial misery for a while now, but this latest company statement is the first in which the firm fesses up and admits a buy-out is a distinct possibility.
The statement announces the firm's board 'has received a preliminary approach which may or may not lead to an offer being made for the company', but warns it's still early days and "there can be no assurance that an offer will be forthcoming."
Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Warner Bros and Square Enix are all rumoured to be potential suitors.
To the winner goes the spoils, and Eidos has some pretty significant ones, with licences for popular titles including Hitman, Tomb Raider and Deus Ex.
Stay tuned to find out if any of the above prospective buyers choose to take talks to the next level.
