Core i7 CPU

rediculous speed
[very] good for gaming - what else is there? ...
cons? ... what cons? ... except perhaps the fact that no [maximum] review-scale can truly capture the significance of this CPU's performance!
I couppled this CPU with an AMD/ATI 4870X2 and 12GB of memory (Patriot 12G(6X2G) DDR3 1600 (double) Tri Kit CL9 Viper
) on a Gigabyte GA-EX58-EXTREME X58+ICH10R QPI 6.4GT/s motherboard running VISTA 64bit Ultimate!
Upon completion of my new system, and after pressing the Power-Button on my new case for the first time, I was instantly transported into gaming-heaven, bypassing all usual ascension probation!
My case in point: a little over 20600 3DMark2006 Benchmarks at STOCK SPEEDS! (NOT that i would EVER even consider overclocking my system as STABILITY is paramount to my [gaming] activities, besides i don't even BELIEVE in it!)
Why did I spend so much money on this much goodness? : 'cause it's still a BARGAIN, even at that price, besides, i don't believe in "Budget", "Mid-Range" or would-be "High-End" riffraff, generally designed to suck good money for INFERIOR components!
for those complaining about the cost of this CPU, or indeed the cost of an entire system build around it, this is my advice: "IT'S SIMPLY A MATTER OF PRIORITIES!"
As I have my own viewpoint on the subject of "Overclocking", here's my 5 cents worth: spend less time overclocking your system in an effort to sqeeze that last ounce of performance just so you can submit a completely unsustainable benchmark score to an irrelavant and completely meaningless hall of fame, and spend MORE time playing games, ANY kind of game!
