Is it better then the first? Well I guess it depends what you liked about the first film, for one the first film was accessible, it was humorous, it tied in with current events.

It was an experience, though not repulsive, that could draw you into it's world with loud noise, likeable characters and a sense of "Well if there were giant alien robots, I hope it would be like this" kind of mentality.

I suppose MB's interpretation of the first films success, was fun. So now 'fun' has been ramped up into stupid proportions, nope there's no room for that character stuff or adventure thing, let's have fun. I suppose if you don't really care about film, narrative or the Transformers brand you won't mind the stupidity in this film.

This film is a whore.

Assuming you set standards, I don't want to spoil the scenes that are utterly stupid, because if I told you now your sense of anger will be spoiled when you see it for yourself, and I wouldn't want that to happen.

I swear, there must have been an hour or so of dicking around in the first act in this film, just cruddy gag after cruddy gag, though I admit I did laugh out once or twice when it did hit for me.

And by the second act I felt okay it's getting settled we're starting to roll with a story here, it's building up to something, they've found help and are seeking a way to confront the decepticon menace, but then it just lags again early into the third act. It's just noise and static, furious, furious static. They move, they run, the robots chase. They have the key, the robots want the key, they chase. Rinse repeat, rinse repeat, hey Bay why would I care? They've just been running around in a quest that's poorly explained, you can't just threaten their lives with decepitcons for 30 straight minutes and think I'm invested in watching this tripe, what you think I'm just gonna drop it, no sir, I want answers to the previous inexplicable exposition before it.

Michael Bay just stop.
