Very overclockable, tons of performance, insanely fast processing and bragging rights for having the fastest chip on the market.
Price!
Firstly, I love this chip! Sitting in Windows 7 watching those six cores/12 threads tearing up anything that I through at it is amazing.
This chip is very overclockable and can be pushed way beyond 4.5GHz, however I have decided to run it permanently on 4.1GHz
Thouh the price tag of this chip certainly should make you consider your reasons before buying. At the end of the day the chip is great for multi-tasking, video encoding and the like, but you won't notice a great deal of performance above the i7 quad core range.
In fact some people are getting just as good 3DMark Vantage scores with the i5 chips. Games just aren't using the multi-cores and numerous threads, therefore forking out $1600+ for this chip may not be the best idea if you are just gaming.
Overall this chip performs fantastically, sitting on 41c at idle with an Asetek LC120 CPU cooler.
