Very quiet
Flexible hoses
Big radiator
Pwm controlled fans
Software makes it easier to monitor coolant temps and you can change the led light to alot of different colours.
Its 1155 compatible so its great for sandy bridge.
Can be loud when no software is installed.
Software was a little trickie to get working properly.
Would of been good if the fans were 3 pin to connect to fan controller.
Installation can be trickie.
Antec has been know for their high grade budget case to the extreme gaming cases they also other top notch power supplies and cpu coolers.
Antec has brought to me today the Antec Kuhler 920.
Looking at the box its colourful and has all the details written on the box but lets look at the socket compatibly - Intel LGA 775 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366
- AMD AM2 / AM3 / AM2+ / AM3+
there are two mounting brackets you can use one for Amd and one for Intel.
Similar to the Corsair H70 hydro cooler it is a twist mounting design so it looks into the bracket you install on your motherboard.
The mounting bracket can be adjusted for your socket type looking at the back of the back it has number 1156,1155,1366 and 775.
Installing the cpu cooler is a matter of taking out the radiator out of the box , securing the first fan onto the radiator and then one more at the back to secure the radiator to the case chassis.
Next is to choose your socket type im using the 1155 socket there is two adhesive pads to mount to the back of the motherboard on the otherside of the motherboard you need to loosely fit the cpu cooler mounting bracket to the motherboard.
Using the blue plastic mounts underneath the cpu mounting bracket secure to the motherboard.
Next place the pump into the mounting bracket and twist until it locks into place now tighten up the screws to secure the mount fully to the motherboard.
With the Antec fans your have to connect the fans via the pump using the 4 pin fan connections and plug the 3 pin header into the cpu fan port on the motherboard.
Now check to see if you have done it right now grab your software disc for the Antec Kuhler 920 but dont plug in the usb cable to the motherboard yet.
When i turned on my pc it told me that no cpu fan was connected i turned off cpu fan monitoring to get pasted this stage.
I placed the dvd into the dvd drive and installed software without a problem now restart your computer and then switch it off plug in the usb cable to your motherboard and turn your pc back on with the software installed you can enjoy silent performance, custom and extreme.
With the chill control software you have fan control ,
Pump speed , fan speed and coolant temperature.
The software controls your fan speed via coolant temperatures and adjusts your speed when needed automatically.
Fan specs are
Fan Speed: 700 - 2400 RPM (PWM controlled)
The tubing of the hoses are rubber and very flexible which makes it easy to mount the pump onto your cpu.
I tested this cooler against the Corsair H80.
With a mid overclock with the Corsair H80 i got temps at idle of 35c based on my room temp.
With the same mid overclock on the Antec Kuhler 920 i got temps of 36c based on my room temp.
Noise level of the Antec Kuhler 920 is alot quieter when on silent with software installed highly recommend using software as it does sound like a jet engine when no software installed.
Corsair H80 you have to take off your side panel to be able to control your fan speed with the stock fans i find it was very loud.
Overall this is a very great product by Antec
