Information on how to enter and on the prize form part of these Conditions of Entry.
Entry is only open to residents of Australia, aged eighteen years or over. Employees and their immediate families of the Promoter or any associated company including any advertising and/or sales promotion agency are ineligible to enter.
In order to participate in the Atomic 'Become a Tech Journo' competition, entrants must be an Atomic forum member with the rank 'Journeyman' and above, answer the entry question, provide all requested details and submit two reviews of the prize items won. Three finalists will be chosen from all entries received. These three finalists will write two reviews of the prizes received in order to complete their competition entry. The winner will be decided by online votes and a judging panel of Atomic staff. The winner/s details and competition entries will be published within Atomic magazine and www.atomicmpc.com.au
This is a game of SKILL. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and reserves the right to disqualify any entrant tampering with the entry process or for submitting an entry which is not in accordance with these Conditions of Entry.
Entries will be deemed to be made at the time of receipt and not at the time of transmission. Incomplete or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid. No responsibility will be taken for lost, late or misdirected entries. The promoter accepts no responsibility for any emails not received by the Promoter or delays in the delivery of the email due to technical descriptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
The promotion commences at 9am, Australian Eastern Standard Time (EST), Wednesday 24th June 2009 and concludes midnight, EST, Thursday 16th July 2009.
Three competition finalists will be determined (from all valid entries) 10.00am on Tuesday 21st July 2009 at Haymarket Media Pty. Ltd of 52 Victoria Street, McMahons Point, NSW, 2060. The three finalists will be notified in writing via email. The finalists name, state and entry will be published on www.atomicmpc.com.au on Wednesday 5th August 2009. The finalist with a combination of the most online votes and judging panel votes on Tuesday 25th August 2009 will be deemed the competition winner.
There is a total prize pool of $1,886.85 to be won. There are a total of 3 finalists and 1 winner. The 3 x finalists will win: 1 x Asus motherboard valued at a minimum of $599.00, or 1 x Asus graphics card valued at a minimum of $749, plus the Fallout 3 Quest Pack 1, valued at $29.95. The winner will receive the privilege of having their details and entry published within Atomic magazine and www.atomicmpc.com.au
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any variation for the prize value. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash. The prize value is correct at time of printing. The promoter also accepts no responsibility for any misdirected delivery of prizes.
The Promoter's decision on all matters pertaining to the promotion is final and binding regardless of whether an independent Judge is employed by the Promoter in connection with any aspect of the promotion and no correspondence will be entered into. All entries remain the property of the Promoter. Submission of any entry will not create any legal relationship between the entrant and the Promoter. At the close of the promotion all entries are void.
The Promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss and including any loss arriving from negligence) or for personal injury which is suffered or sustained as a result of taking the prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
The Promoter collects entrants' personal information in order to conduct the promotion. If the information requested is not provided, the entrant may not participate in the promotion. By entering the promotion, unless otherwise advised, each entrant also agrees that the Promoter and the sponsors may use this information, or disclose it to other organisations that may use it, in any media for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes without any further reference, payment or other compensation to the entrant. If you do not wish to receive this information, the entrant must contact and inform Haymarket Media. For example, if the entrant wishes to unsubscribe from an email/s communication sent, they must click on the 'unsubscribe link' and complete the unsubscribe process or write 'unsubscribe' within the subject line of the email/s sent and reply to the sender. Entrants' personal information may be disclosed to State and Territory lottery departments and winners' names published as required under the relevant lottery legislation. All entries will become the property of the Promoter. The Promoter reserves the right to publish the winner's names and suburbs for promotional purposes.
The Promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this game of chance, or by any technical failure, which may occur in the course of the administration of this game of chance. The Promoter assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communication in line failure, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
In the event that for any reason whatsoever a winner does not take an element of the prize at the time stipulated by the Promoter then that element of the prize will be forfeited by the winner and cash will not be awarded in lieu of that element of that prize. For example, if any of the three finalists choosen does not agree to write a review/s of the prizes received, then the finalist forefeits the prize and another finalist will be choosen.
