Age Restrictions
All gamers competing in the WGT Quake IV Tournament must be at least 18 years of age.Players who do not meet the age qualification may participate with his/her parent/s signed consent.
Game Objective
To score more kills then your opponent within the allocated time limit.Match Rules
Gameplay will consist of one (1) vs one (1) deathmatch play.Matches will be set to a total of 10 minutes round time.
Once both players have entered the server, the match will be put into a warm up period that will last three (3) minutes. Once these three minutes are up, the server will go live.
In the event that the scores are tied at the end of match time, then a two minute extra time period will be enabled. In the event of further ties, then a sudden death, golden kill rule will apply where the next player to make a kill will be awarded the match.
Starting Time
The match is to commence no later than five (5) minutes after the GameArena server has come online, not from the time the server was scheduled to start.Should you be in the server and the opposing player does not arrive within five (5) minutes of the server starting time, the opposing player forfeits.
If you intend on forfeiting the other player, do not complete the match.
Maps
Some or all of the following maps may be used during the WGT qualifying and finals.Phrantic (swq4dm1)
Placebo Effect (wvwq4dm1)
Monsoon (l4dm2)
Galang (l4dm1)
Or any other maps deemed appropriate for the competition.
Completed Results
It is the sole responsibility of the winning player to ensure the results are entered upon the completion of a match.Both players have up to two hours after the completion of the match to enter the result.
Disputed Results
Both players have the right to dispute the result of the match. A dispute should be lodged in any of the below cases:- Scores were recorded incorrectly.
- Evidence that the opposing player was not your correct opponent or not registered with GameArena
- Evidence the other team cheated.
- An opponent did not show, or failed to join the server within the 5 minute warm up time.
- A player broke any of the rules set out in the WGT T&C.
Server Malfunctions
In the event of a server crash:- The match will be restarted or in some circumstances be rescheduled.
Client Settings
Players are encouraged to use the games default settings, adjusted to suit their internet connection.WGT will force all settings deemed as a prerequisite to playing in the Quake IV Competition during both the on-line qualifiers and finals.

Spectators
With the exception of the Ladder Referees, spectators are not allowed within the actual server.Cheating
No Cheats of any kind are to be used in the WGT Quake IV Tournament in any way, shape, manner or form.It is the player's responsibility to ensure that they comply with this rule.
- Should a player be caught cheating on a server, that individual will be banned from competing in the WGT Quake IV Tournament.
- Players suspecting opponents of cheating are asked to submit a report. Players submitting such a report must provide sufficient evidence that there was been a breach of the tournament terms & conditions.
Cheat Definition
Cheating includes, but is not limited to:- Map hacking; (EG: Wall hacks, etc)
- CVAR exploits.
- Anything that attempts to bypass any client side settings put in place by GameArena.
- Wireframe drivers.
- Launching denial of service attacks or packet flooding an opponent.
- Models that extend beyond reasonable bounds.
- Speed hacks.
- Or any other gameplay altering cheats.
Qualifying Structure
The WGT Quake IV qualifying portion of the tournament will be a single elimination event.Final Structure
The top 20 players will be invited to attend the finals in Sydney.Players will be split into 4 divisions, of 5 players each. Each player competes against each other player in their division.
The top ranked players in each division (4 players total) play in a knockout, culminating in a 1-1 Grand Final.
Please ensure prior to registering that you will be able capable of fielding a full roster of players in the event that your team makes the final. Teams that qualify for the finals but are not capable of fielding a full side regardless of reason may be withdrawn from the tournament and the next highest finishing team will be invited.
Equipment
Players are permitted to bring their own equipment if they so choose to, however all equipment required will be provided.Acceptable personal equipment: mouse, keyboard, controller, headset & mouse pad. If any personally supplied equipment requires additional power, he/she should prepare necessary adaptors. WGT and/or partners shall not be held responsible for player/s personal lost, damaged, or stolen equipment.
If any supplied equipment is damaged or broken due to player/s recklessness, he or she is responsible for the cost.
Should a player not bring his or her own equipment, he/she shall be obliged to use the standard equipment furnished by the WGT.
Disclaimer
Atomic/GameArena reserves the right to:- Modify the rules as needed at any time it sees fit to do so.
- This includes changes due to software updates or releases, tournament administrator's decisions and all other changes deemed necessary to the competition.
- Teams should check the rules on a regular basis and prior to every match to ensure they are in complete compliance.
- Teams must understand that the rules listed are guidelines that GameArena/Atomic will use to try and ensure fair and competitive play and are subject to interpretation by the Ladder Administrators based on the spirit of the rule and game.
- Tournament Administrators have final discretion on whether a rule has been broken and what penalty, if any shall apply.
